A word from Pollyanna

Well, actually several words; she has quite the vocabulary you know. I took the opportunity to video her on the sly one afternoon while she was having one of her talking fits. It was brought on by a lovely instrumental CD that we were listening to. For all of her own obnoxious squawking, the bird does have quite the musical appreciation. Violins especially, make her very happy indeed.

So, without any further ado, here is three minutes of proof for you all that our little green fluff ball does truly speak. I'm interested to see if anyone else can understand her without it being interpreted... You can definitely tell the point in the movie when she spots me - as she begins asking for crackers, and then when denied, progresses to laughing at me before completely relapsing into the typical bird behavior... Preening when we actually want her to say something. :)

I'll do some interpretation if nobody is able to figure any of it out. :)

By the way...the clips on her doors are there for the purpose of keeping her in... You would be surprised.

(Later: Some of you are understanding her pretty well! For the rest that are still wondering, she is saying: "step-up", "come on", "good boy!" "I love you!" "Meow" "Here Kitty, Kitty!" "good girl" "pretty boy" "wanna cracker?" "huh?" "pretty girl" and at the end she is giggling to herself and muttering "really..."

Aww, we finally get to hear her! I especially like the "here, kitty, kitty, kitty—ME-OW!" :D

How neat! Pollyanna is adorable. She seems to really like the phrase "Good boy".

How funny! I've heard her before, but never this much! I'm hearing 'I love you','good boy', 'good girl', and the meowing. I may be wrong. I'm glad you shared the silly girl with us!
I think she's as good as a circus act :) Thanks for that light-hearted moment.

Awww, she's really cute! So do you kind of get used to her talking, or does it still crack you up every time?

Actually Kelsey, her chatter has become much more normal to us than we ever imagined possible! After more than seven years with her, she doesn't take us by surprise much anymore. But she still makes me laugh at least once a day - she's just so witty, and her timing (even with just her little giggle or "oh really") will always be hilarious to me. :)

That is one smart bird! The video just made me laugh. Makes me wonder what kind of lines a bird would pick up living in our house. Most of it would probably always refer to our dog.
